Harry Ogg
Classic Body Builder

My interest in bodybuilding was started in seeing a Spenby Strength Builder modelled by Arnold Schwarzenegger in my Gran’s Club Book when I was around 13 years of age, after buying one this set me on the road to trying to bodybuild.

I built the foundation of my physique by being a reasonable competitive swimmer.

I continued to train with weights without any real goals or much of an idea other than what I read and advice from other guys at gyms.
My early working life as an Electrician involved working lots of hours and working away from home, my training would suffer as a result of this.

I then went on to work offshore and my training became more regular as most of the rigs I worked on had some form of gym.
I had a very bad accident in November 1999, falling from a crane walkway whilst working on a Drill Ship in Brazil, smashing both my heel bones.

This meant 3 months in a wheel chair and having to learn to walk again. As playing any other sports were out for me I used the Gym as my focus and my rehabilitation. My sub-talor joints in both ankles are still badly damaged but I refuse to let them get in the way of achieving my goals in Bodybuilding.

My aim was always to compete and my first shows were in 2008 where I placed 3rd at Prolab Classic, 4th at Nabba Scotand and I won my first show that year at the UKBFF Scottish Championships Intermediate Over 80 Kg, Qualifying for the UKBFF British at Nottingham.

I Won the Classic Class at the UKBFF Scottish Championships the following year and paced 2nd at the UKBFF British in the Classic Class 2009.  2010 was my year in winning the UKBFF Over 175cm Classic British Title.

After making all the mistakes that all Bodybuilders and general weight trainers make my training is now set up for maximum muscle growth and as near perfect form that I can manage, my emphasis is on making the targeted muscle work as hard as possible by squeezing the muscle for every rep and try to achieve the maximum pump at all times, I always preach to anyone who will listen to not fall into the trap of just moving the heaviest weight possible and counting reps but make sure you are hitting the muscle every with every rep with an additional squeeze, muscles grow by maximum blood flow and nutrients transported to them and this can only happen when combined with the correct form, diet and excellent supplementation from USN.

I know this may seem strange but I have never measured the size of my muscles either in off season or in competition, the Class I compete in has a maximum weight for my height that I must achieve which is 84Kg. I always go on what I see in the mirror and only use scales and fat percentages when I diet, I have to continually try to improve on shape, symmetry and condition and still stay below 84Kg, after competing against the top Classic Bodybuilders in the World I know I can still make big gains in muscle size and still get under the maximum weight allowance.

Future Goals

My goals are always on a personal level, I don’t go looking for titles more for improvements in my own physique and to compete on stage at the highest level possible, my aim is to always to be better than I was last time out and be a good ambassador for the Sport of Bodybuilding and for USN, if titles come with that then that’s a huge bonus.
I believe in the classic aesthetic physique that’s achievable for younger guys to aspire too, although I know I have to make a great deal of improvements before I get there myself.
USN Supplements

I own my own Supplement Shop Body Tone Warehouse in Dundee and supplements play a massive role in my diet. I use USN’s excellent range on a daily basis.

I use 1 serving of  USN BCAA’s  and L-Glutamine first thing in the morning and 1 serving Pre and Post Workout, these is the most  important Amino Acids, they  prevent any chance of muscle breakdown and provide the muscles with an instant scource for growth and recovery.

USN’s Creatine X4 is used Pre and Post Workout and first thing in the morning on non training days, this clever combination of  Creatine Ethyl Ester, Glycine and Beta Alanine increases strength, protein synthesis and GH levels and helps to add Vascularity and enhances muscle pump.

I use HMB pre and post workout and before bed, this supplement is an excellent muscle builder and vital to add when dieting to minimise any muscle loss.

When I’m trying to add maximum muscle growth a big favourite of mine is Muscle Fuel Anabolic, this is a hardcore muscle building All in One, I use 150g  1 ½ hours before and directly after my Workouts and get in a serving between morning and afternoon meals on non training days, when in preps for competition I’ll switch to Whey Protein before and after workouts.

30-45 minutes before training I use the Leutec and Gaktec combination to ensure maximum muscle protection and explosive strength.

15 minutes before working out I use Anabolic Nitro, the most important thing for muscle growth is the ‘Pump’ and this supplement gets me pumped from start to finish,

Another of my favourite USN supplements is Pure Protein IGF-1, I use this mixed in with my oats for breakfast any time during the day for a protein boost, it keeps you full for longer and tastes amazing and most importantly for me - last thing before bed to ensure constant feeding throughout sleep.

I use 19 Anabol Testo to ensure my natural testosterone levels are kept at maximum to create that anabolic environment crucial to maximum muscle growth, helping with explosive workouts and great a bonus for older guys like myself, the increase in libido. 1 serving of ZMA is added before bed to further enhance test levels and increase deep REM sleep when your muscles are growing most.

During diet and preps for shows I add in Xedra Cut Hardcore fat burners a great Thermogenic and Lava Sticks to help with fat burning before during and after workouts, even mixing it with my oats for extra flavour.

Triple Omega, Multiplex and Jointplex are used daily to ensure I get all the necessary fats, vitamins, minerals and my joints are protected  from the intense training they have to endure.

Supplements for me are vital in  bodybuilding, trying to get them just from food alone is impossible, I am very proud to having the backing of the team of a trusted brand like USN, using their products vastly improves my performance in the gym and enhances my physique by providing the  necessary nutrients for muscle growth and recovery.
