BENEFITS OF DRINKING WATER

THE REAL BENEFITS OF DRINKING WATER

We’ve heard it all before – got a headache? Are you drinking water? Want to lose weight? Drink more water. Hungry? Water. Parents drilled this into our heads during that dreaded developmental stage when our skin went haywire Had a breakout? It’s because you’re not drinking enough water etc ect. These statements used to drive us insane, right? Well, we’re here to tell you some of the other main benefits of drinking water – and enough of it at that! Hydration helps maintain the balance of body fluids. In this blog we will be discussing the benefits of drinking water and staying hydrated.

Benefits of drinking water

Approximately 60% of our bodies consists of water. Hydration helps the following bodily fluids function: digestion, saliva creation, transportation of nutrients, absorption, and maintenance of body temperature. When your body is low on fluids, your brain triggers your thirst mechanism—always listen to your body and keep drinking water when you need it!

Hydration helps control calories

Substituting water for a higher calorie beverage will of course help you to lose weight. Also aim for foods with high water content as they will be absorbed by your body much slower; meaning that you will feel full for longer. Some examples of water-rich foods include fruits, veggies, broth-based soups, oatmeal and beans.

Keeps your skin glowing

When you’re dehydrated your skin looks more dry and wrinkled – this can be improved with proper hydration! Be sure that you are drinking water throughout the day by using a large water bottle – such as one of ours here at USN water bottle!

Here's a list of tips for increasing your water intake:

  • Set Reminders: Use phone alarms, apps, or sticky notes to remind yourself to drink water throughout the day.
  • Establish a Routine: Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning, before each meal, and before bed.
  • Carry a Water Bottle: Keep a reusable water bottle with you at all times.
  • Refill Regularly: Make it a habit to refill your water bottle frequently.
  • Track Your Intake: Use a water tracking app or a marked water bottle to monitor your progress.
